How do I get started?

Everything happens in the Bid Mailers mobile app. Download it at sqr.co/bid-mailers/ (open that link on your phone). You'll create your account, verify your email, agree to the service agreement, enter your pricing, answer the questionnaire, and add a payment method — then our graphic designer emails you a first template draft to approve. Most new customers are shipping within 1–2 weeks.

Do I need to book a demo?

You don't have to. If you have questions, we're happy to walk you through how it works. But many customers are comfortable getting started after reviewing how the product works online. Reach out if you'd like a walkthrough.

Do I need to be a certain size company?

No minimum team size. Solo operators and multi-crew companies both use Bid Mailers. The more homes you pin, the faster you build pipeline.

How does the pricing work?

Each mailer costs $3.50, which covers everything — satellite roof measurement, custom 5-page estimate design, printing, and postage. No sign-up fees, no monthly retainers, no long-term contracts. You only pay for what we mail.

What's included in the $3.50 per mailer?

Everything: satellite image measurement, property-specific estimate production, full-color printing on a 5-page packet, a 6"×9.5" window envelope, USPS postage, and delivery to the homeowner. QR code tracking and email notifications are included too.

Is there a minimum order?

Your first order is 500 mailers for $1,050 flat — buy 300, get 200 free. No promo code needed, we apply it automatically. After your first order, technically there's no minimum, though we recommend 200/week as the sweet spot. Sign up while the offer is live to lock in $3.50/mailer and no-minimum-after-first-order permanently.

When am I charged?

We charge your card on file on Tuesday for that week's batch. Shipment goes out on Friday. If you don't have any pending addresses that week, nothing ships and nothing is charged.

Am I charged for undeliverable addresses?

No. We validate addresses before printing. If an address is flagged as undeliverable, it's removed — you're not shipped and not charged for it.

What's included in the 5-page mailer?

Each mailer is a custom-branded 5-page estimate that includes a street view image of the homeowner's property on the envelope, detailed roof measurements, your pricing, and financing options. We design the template for your brand during onboarding — completely free.

How do you measure the roof without going to the property?

Accepted Answer

Our trained measurement team uses high-resolution satellite imagery to manually measure each roof — not algorithmic, not AI guesswork. We identify skylights, chimneys, ridges, valleys, and determine the pitch. Waste factor (typically 6–18% depending on roof complexity) is always included in the squares shown on the mailer. Contractors enter prices per square BEFORE waste factor — our system applies waste on top.

Can I customize my template?

Yes. You provide direction through the onboarding questionnaire, and our designer creates the first draft. You review it and can request specific changes page by page. In some cases, we can give you edit access to the design file.

Can I have different templates for different services?

Yes. You can have a separate template and unique pricing for each service/material combination — for example, one for shingle replacement and another for flat roofing.

Why are your open rates so high?

The envelope features a street view image of the exact home we're mailing to. When a homeowner sees their own house on the envelope, they open it. It's a large 6"×9.5" envelope with the largest producible window and a thick 5-page packet that feels substantial — not junk mail.

How do I pin homes?

You use the Bid Mailers app on your phone or tablet. Find the address or tap the map, pin the home, and assign a service/material label. It's fast — most users can pin 200+ homes per hour while driving through neighborhoods.

Can my sales reps or canvassers pin homes too?

Yes. You can create surveyor sub-accounts for team members. You can set daily or weekly pin limits per user, or leave them unlimited. You can also deactivate users at any time.

Can I delete a pin?

Yes. There's a 24-hour window after a pin is created during which it can be removed without issue. After that, the pin may already be in the measurement queue. Contact us if you need help with a later change.

When do batches ship?

We run a weekly shipping cycle: Sunday night we check which accounts have unshipped pins, Tuesday we charge your card, and Friday we ship. Pins added after Sunday night roll into the following week.

Yes. We print and mail to all 50 U.S. states. Your custom branded bids ship weekly. Canada expansion is coming soon.

How do the QR codes work?

Every mailer includes a unique QR code linked to a custom landing page for your company. When a homeowner scans it, you get notified via email. The landing page includes your logo, an image of the home, the pricing shown, an FAQ, and a contact form.

How do I know if someone called from a mailer?

When a homeowner calls, search their address in the app. If it matches a shipped address, you can see the estimate price, roof squares, pitch, ship date, and which team member pinned it. This helps you walk into the appointment knowing what the homeowner already saw.

When a homeowner calls after receiving a Bid Mailer, they already have a detailed estimate with the price in hand. They're not calling to ask "how much?" — they're calling because they're ready to move forward. That's why close rates are typically higher than shared digital leads.

What counts as a "lead"?

We define a lead as a form submission through the landing page. However, many homeowners call directly instead of submitting the form — those calls aren't automatically tracked but are often the majority of responses. Use the address search in the app for attribution.
